The Catalog of Kimbro's 'More Entertaining Soccer' Pages

I'm rejoicing in the fact that this page exhibits that, while my primary position paper:

1.    "Visualize Higher Scoring Soccer"

is admittedly obese, it's just the tip of the iceberg.

But please don't think that this iceberg is intended to sink The Titanic world of professional soccer, as I'm no soccer saboteur.  My intentions are to encourage a change in course toward a more enjoyable and entertaining destination.

All aboard!      [ cue the "Gilligan's Island" theme song   ;~)  ]

2.  "Who Else Wants More Entertaining Soccer"

Image Credit: World Soccer Magazine, December 1999 issue, p. 68, by Keir Radnedge, the magazine's executive editor, the title of the article "The Greatest Game of All!"

3.  "Mike's Study of Soccer Scoring"

European Champ. Qualifying:    2.41 goals per match

Friendly Exhibition Matches:  2.17 goal per match

Proof positive that, even in absolutely meaningless matches, neither the coaches nor the players care enough about the fans to play an entertaining, attacking style of football!

4.  "The NFL's scoring crisis"

So how does soccer scoring compare to American football at the NFL, college, or (ha!) even the high school levels.

The stats paint a picture of an intelligent and effective FC Dallas defense, yet the center back's role in the match's lone goal totally overshadows whatever contribution the pair provided in holding Chivas to 8 combined shots and corners taken. Such is soccer.

Texas A&M Shocks No. 7-Seeded UCLA on PKs

14.  "Vision Zero"

The Bruins had the advantage in the first half despite the 0-0 score at the break. UCLA outshot the Aggies, 6-0, and took four corner kicks while the Aggies did not attempt one.

Spisak helped keep the game scoreless as she tallied three saves in the first frame.

The second half and the two overtime periods was more of the same from the Bruins and Spisak. The Bruins peppered the A&M goal with 15 more shots and Spisak turned away seven more to keep the game scoreless. The Aggies did not manage a shot in the 110 minutes of play.

Motivational Explanation:  While I'm above concerning myself with tracking of the numbers of visitors to my various pages, I'm very interested in making it as easy as possible for the curious few to find my work.  So, while I realize that the format for this page is kind of goofy, I had to take action after noticing that some of my pages were being placed at literally the very bottom of the last page of some Google searches.  Technically speaking, this page was constructed to eliminate the "cyclical links" which I was told have put my site at a disadvantage in the Google indexing.  Sadly, it didn't work.
