[Don't Let] Pennies Get In The Way [of Dollars]                 [Part 3 of my Business Trilogy]

A poem by Chrome Dome Mike Kimbro

Consider reading along to my Spoken Verse Performance.

VERSE 1

So many books are written,

On the subject of efficiency.

Experts agree that it's forbidden,

For the process to have a deficiency.

CHORUS

You don't need an MBA,

Or degree in Engineering.

Understand the words I say,

And stop the suits from appearing:

"Don't let pennies get in the way of a dollar."

BRIDGE

I'm talking 'bout money that you fold up.

Being stifled by coins made of copper.

That happens when pennies hold up,

Generation of the almighty dollar.

Yeah, it's not sufficient,

Just to be proficient.

You gotta be efficient.

Or else your boss's boss is gonna holler.

VERSE 2

You've probably heard: "No drop of rain,

Thinks it's the reason for the flood."                       [Note: Thank's Paula!]

They coined that phrase to make it plain:

"Pick up the pace, or hit the road, Bud."

CHORUS

You don't need an MBA,

Or degree in Engineering.

Understand the words I say,

And stop the suits from appearing:

"Don't let pennies get in the way of a dollar."

VERSE 3

Whether driving nails, or working a still,

Don't let the little things drive you crazy.

If more money isn't added to the till,

The C-Suite will assume that you're lazy.

CHORUS

You don't need an MBA,

Or degree in Engineering.

Understand the words I say,

And stop the suits from appearing:

"Don't let pennies get in the way of a dollar."

The End
