Screamers

An original poem by Chrome Dome Mike Kimbro

Consider reading along to my Spoken Verse Performance.

VERSE 1

If you're legally blind,

But your hearing's up to speed,

Here's the good news about recreation.

I think you might find,

That tennis has got what you need.

Some players deserve a standing ovation.

VERSE 2

The singles action,

At tennis ballparks.

Where both ladies are real screamers.

What stirs up the passion,

Isn't cute little barks,

But cries like they've broken their femurs.

CHORUS

Whether it's played on,

Grassy Wimbleton lawns.

Or hard courts or burnt orange clay.

My advice, so solemn,

Is to crank up the volume,

When certain fine ladies are at play.

VERSE 3

So upload the matches,

Where lovely Sharapova

Plays powerhouse Ostapenko.

The Youtube that catches,

Either playing Cibulkova,

Should have more views than "Despacito."

CHORUS

Whether it's played on,

Grassy Wimbleton lawns.

Or hard courts or burnt orange clay.

My advice, so solemn,

Is to crank up the volume,

When certain fine ladies are at play.

The End
