You Have to Know Me

VERSE 1

Claire, I’ve worked with you,

God, I’ve loved our time together so.

But there is something

On my mind that you should know.

I’m a man,

But while I am older,

I’m much more than a shoulder.

While this might be awkward,

Girl, it’s time I showed you my cards.

CHORUS

You have to know me,

Couldn’t hurt you if I tried.

You have to know me.

I'm so happy by your side.

You have to know me.

Wanna make you my bride.

VERSE 2

Claire, I know you

Had twin babies just before he fled.

Not a prob.

Eight years he’s in the

state prison without having wed.

Claire you know,

Each day when I wake up,

And I pour me a cup.

I know how much more I could be,

If you were here, with love, beside me.

CHORUS

You have to know me.

And how much I want to share your life.

You have to know me.

But there’s one thing which we must agree.

You have to know me.

Before I can take you for my wife.

BRIDGE

Would you give me a son or daughter

To perfect our love song.

For this contained love to flow as white water.

Just say yes to children and we’ll be wed.

But if you say no, can we act like nothing’s said?

CHORUS

You have to know me,

Couldn’t hurt you if I tried.

You have to know me.

I'm so happy by your side.

You have to know me.

Wanna make you my bride.

The End
