VERSE 1

Getting through 2020 sure was tough.

We heard "craps" with every roll of the dice.

As if lock downs and lay offs weren't bad enough.

Poor Music City paid an awful price.

VERSE 2

Charlie Pride caught COVID after he accepted,

Country Music's award that's most prestigious.

Then someone made sure, as it lay unprotected,

Nashville suffered a wound that was egregious.

VERSE 3

Fans of Guy Forsyth and Carolyn Wonderland,

Friends of Antone's, Saxon Pub, and Speakeasy,

Have knowledge the FBI needs to understand,

Before they close the case in Middle Tennessee.

I knew it wouldn't be long until,

Locals felt the pain of loss,

Least as far as live music goes.

Better focus on Travis County.

When the Feds come to me for strange insights,

I'll answer: "Yeah, I've got my suspicions.

Sure to fit the profile are those Austinites.

Start with so called 'Americana' musicians.

Producing lightly, with few vocal effects,

They begrudge Nashville the proper respect.

So, the investigation won't be complete,

'Til Special Agents scour Travis County streets.

Some say we know who's the Christmas Day Bomber,

And the more I learn the more it makes me blue.

Surprise! They say it was a white male Boomer!

Whose rights were all important. What could they do?

VERSE 5

A girlfriend's LAWYER'S warning goes unheeded.

Old Caucasians don't answer their phone and door.

Judges might decline warrants that are needed.

And most assume he didn't mean to start a war?

Still...

I'd take a look at Austin, to be 'shore'.
