Get Over It

An original poem by Chrome Dome Mike Kimbro

Consider reading along to my Spoken Verse Performance.

VERSE 1

There was a time,

When thugs would say,

What they'd like to do.

Then close with:

"Whatcha gonna do about it?!?"

Now, they just do the crime,

Then explain that they,

Had every right to.

And follow with:

"You better just get over it!!!"

CHORUS

Most perps are at their sorriest,

After they get caught, of course.

But, to me, the ones who are scariest,

Are them that show no remorse.

Like a rooster, at break of day, crows,

Such folks make sure everyone knows:

"You better just get over it!!!"

VERSE 2

One gent in a white collar,

Cited historical precedent,

For a Quid Pro Quo transaction.

Then said cheerily:

"You better just get over it!!!"

He thought he was a scholar,

Until checking with the President,

Who demanded some form of retraction.

Even if it was merely,

"I didn't say what you heard me say."

BRIDGE

The blind Justice Lady now uses,

A new kind of scale that's friggin' great.

Saved for when the POTUS abuses,

Power, like a pimp sets up a date.

The scale is named after Mick Mulvaney,

And it gauges the amount of dismissal.

No Mulvaney.

Half Mulvaney!

And Full Mulvaney!!!

That's right! It only needs three levels.

Inspired by White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, here's a scale which measures the level of acceptance of the President's abuse of power.

CHORUS

Most perps are at their sorriest,

After they get caught, of course.

But, to me, the ones who are scariest,

Are them that show no remorse.

Like a rooster, at break of day, crows,

Such folks make sure everyone knows:

"You better just get over it!!!"

The End.
