Legacy Systems Rock

Consider reading along to my Spoken Verse Performance.
VERSE 1
Primary caucuses in the Mid-West,
Produced a climate which was dynamic.
I lauded that style as being the best.
Then Iowa fell into a panic.
VERSE 2
Seems there was a kink in the annointing,
Of a victor for the Democratic party.
Votes were cast, then fingers started pointing.
After 3 nights, totals were still tardy.
VERSE 3
Ratings soared as the minds of pundits blew,
They couldn't conceive of such a problem.
One question asked by every IT crew:
What happened to the Legacy system?!?
CHORUS
Legacy!
Coming to the rescue.
Legacy!
The last regime blessed you.
With a system that is steady.
It won't crash when the wind blows.
So have that backup system ready.
If there's anything history shows,
It's that legacy systems rock!
VERSE 4
Overseen by those who aren't "enthused".
About the method some call Agile.
Heros who can't help feeling bemused,
When told that documenting can wait until...
VERSE 5
Next week, or when all the problems are solved.
And when they aren't called into a meeting.
Since their budget requests often dissolve,
Feel their heads, against a wall, they are beating.

Legacy!

If their average day includes file formats,
Most put business needs above their careers.
While once treated as department doormats,
