Manhattan Green

VERSE 1

A Man-hattan,

Visi-ta-tion's A must,

If to N.Y.C. you should fly.

Cause it's like the flaky crust,

Of a sweet Big Apple pie.

VERSE 2

But as you're on a walk out there,

You'll want a place to sit that's clean.

Best be sure to find one where,

You aren't too close to Manhattan green.

Here's a patch of grass in Covington, Kentucky, just outside the Commonwealth Bistro on Main Street.

CHORUS

Manhattan green.

Manhattan green.

It might seem as though,

I'm taking shots.

At grasses which grow,

In tiny plots.

But those who know,

Concur with my thoughts.

When it comes to

Manhattan Green.

BRIDGE

By that, I mean,

A patch of grass.

That gets lots of little rains.

If you yearn for green,

Be sure to pass,

That which grows along the lanes.

If by chance you still don't get,

The meat of the message this poet pens.

Choose other spots than grass on which to sit,

Cause it's watered by four legged friends.

VERSE 3

A true scoundrel,

Worthy of cas-tration,

Bernie Ma-doff now rots in jail.

If there's re-incarnation,

In the next life here's his tale.

VERSE 4

That karma is a bitch, he'll learn,

Though still a part of the Wall Street Scene.

Getting drenched with pee might burn,

When he comes back as Manhattan green.

CHORUS

Manhattan green.

Manhattan green.

It might seem as though,

I'm taking shots.

At grasses which grow,

In tiny plots.

But those who know,

Concur with my thoughts.

When it comes to

Manhattan Green.

The End
