The Automotive Superheroes                   [Part 3 of my Vehicle Trilogy]

An original poem by Chrome Dome Mike Kimbro

Consider reading along to my Spoken Verse Performance.

VERSE 1

The first cars were not attractive.

All quite narrow of tire and wheel.

And systems that were far from proactive.

Then, through the sport of motorcar racing,

Came horsepower, which made the rubber squeal.

Gone, the old rides which hot rods were replacing.

VERSE 2

Now today's vehicles are like art work.

But they still can howl or back fire,

And sometimes even shutter and jerk.

But car and truck owners need not despair.

Because a group which we all admire,

Are the cornerstones of auto repair.

CHORUS

So call on an auto parts salesman.

Dang straight, you can trust what he knows.

Yeah, call on the auto parts salesmen.

They're the automotive superheroes.

BRIDGE

I'm definitely a proponent,

Of raises for those who make components.

And I hope that bosses hand out a perk,

To those who do the assembly work.

And let's hold a great big celebration,

For the awesome folks in transportation.

So much love for the car lot personnel,

Whose ornery buyers aren't easy to sell.

And, of course, the mechanics we applaud,

Leaving those guys out would surely seem odd.

But there is a special place in our hearts,

For the guys and gals who sell auto parts.

The good folks at the auto parts houses,

Rank, just slightly, below our children and our spouses.

VERSE 3

Use your turn signal. Watch out for lawmen.

Slow your ass down when it's pourin' rain.

These are driving rules we have in common.

If your ride has a mechanical woe,

Just let the web's many forums explain.

A parts house is the next place you should go.

CHORUS

So call on an auto parts salesman.

Dang straight, you can trust what he knows.

Yeah, call on the auto parts salesmen.

They are the automotive superheroes.

The End.
