VERSE 1

Few things in life are sure things.

'Cause un-foreseen shit often happens.

Once we quite nearly heard the fat lady sing,

The poli-tics of The Right caught us nappin'.

CHORUS

The E. R. A.

Was once on track,

To be the law of the land.

Now we're looking back,

Trying hard to understand,

What happened to the E. R. A.

VERSE 2

The Equal Rights A-mend-ment,

Some say that it died 'cause of hatred.

Still you hear thoughtless neighbors brag that they went,

Spring Breakin' where women's right's are not sacred?

CHORUS

The E. R. A.

Was once on track,

To be the law of the land.

Now we're looking back,

Trying hard to understand,

What happened to the E. R. A.

VERSE 3

The Georgia folks can share blame,

Since most of the South were out-liers.

U-tah and Okla-homa both did the same.

States governed by climate change fact de-niers.

CHORUS

The E. R. A.

Was once on track,

To be the law of the land.

Now we're looking back,

Trying hard to understand,

What happened to the E. R. A.

The End.
