Three Shots Fired, Three Go Down                 [Part 3 of my Firearms Trilogy]

An original poem by Chrome Dome Mike Kimbro

Consider reading along to my Spoken Verse Performance.

Three shot magazine with the background of a mask in the red, white, and blue of the flag of the United States of America.

VERSE 1

For bullets, most agree,

The more rounds the better.

But I've found that three,

Suits me to the letter.

VERSE 2

Sportsmen used to laugh,

At a small magazine.

But one Georgian's gaffe,

Had an effect unforeseen.

CHORUS

Three shots fired,

Three go down.

A mindset that's acquired,

Makes ammo salesmen frown.

Friendly fire has inspired,

Us to never waste a round.

Three shots fired,

Three go down.

VERSE 3

While 3 shots in a 'sporting' gun,

Is usually more than enough.

At shooting ranges, which can be fun,

Being frugal with ammo can be tough.

VERSE 4

To folks in the militia racket,

There's more I'm advocating.

Load up with full metal jacket,

When you're out there demonstrating.

VERSE 5

I hope these fellows don't regret,

Their weekend up in Derby City.

I, for one, would be in their debt,

If it changes max firearm capacity.

VERSE 6

Small apartments are called "an efficiency".

That could apply to a 3 bullet holder.

It might suggest greater proficiency,

But 25 shot magazines are bolder.

VERSE 7

Could be one of those Georgia militiamen,

Had a gun that lacked an important part.

Some feel, if you possess trigger discipline,

Then gun safeties are for the faint of heart.

But not me.

VERSE 8

We dodged a bullet, hosting a meeting,

Between militias from out of state.

To those who think it deserves repeating:

Let it coincide with global viral outbreaks.

Like say, every hundred years.

VERSE 9

Hey, while we're on the subject of COVID,

Think about phone calls from three employees.

Should they confess what gunshots really did,

Or claim EXPOSURE calls for steps like CDC's.

"What do you mean, was I wearing a mask?"

"I'm not sure that I even own one."

VERSE 10

Donning my conspiracy theorist hat,

What if those 3 fine persons didn't make it?

Kentucky's COVID curve might not be as flat.

If it made Trump look bad, Beshear would fake it.

NOT!

CHORUS

3 shots fired,

3 go down.

A mindset that's acquired,

Makes ammo salesmen frown.

Friendly fire has inspired,

Us to never waste a round.

Sing it with me!

Three shots fired,

Three go down.

The End.
